“Imagine all of your best friends— the ones who hang out in your living room or the ones whose house you hang out at a lot— having the best time you can have and making up some of the coolest, soul-nurturing music that you can manage,” said Dave Johnson, manager of the local band Locochino, of VOWLS’ music.

“You do this all the time— on Wednesday nights or at Open Mic or at the extended-family potluck, and you start wanting to shout from the rooftops and distribute musical hugs to everyone who passes by,” said Johnson. “One day you all decide to take the living room outside and play to the squirrels, the pedestrians, the bar room, the crossfit gym and the music halls— wherever the people are,” said Johnson of the group.
